Celebrating the 45th Anniversary of THE PRINCE, the debut single from MADNESS (Aug 10, 1979). In 1979, Madness released their debut single, "The Prince", a heartfelt tribute to Prince Buster. The track was a statement of intent, a tip of the trilby to the roots of the two-tone movement. Its lyrics include the line “an earthquake is erupting”, in reference to the effect Jamaican-origin music had on young people in north London at the time.
