Hi! To start off, DuckDuckGo is “safe” - much safer (and more private!) compared to Google or Bing in its raw form. There are however many alternatives to choose, but if you are just getting started on your internet privacy journey, DuckDuckGo is a great and simple search engine to get started with.
I'm using Brave, but once I missed a letter and write l instead of k, i automatically redirected to a virussite, and it started to dowload the virus without my permission, so my trust dropped a lot. I'm thinking of changing, and I've seen a lot of good comment of Duckduckgo's browser. Anyone using it or what do you think about it?
I am using the DuckDuckGo Version 1.82.1 (155), and see an option under “File” to open a Fire Window. What is this? I can’t find any documentation in the browser or on the help site for DuckDuckGo.
DuckDuckGo is a private alternative to Google search, as well as free browsers for mobile & desktop devices. Unlike Chrome, DuckDuckGo browsers have privacy built-in with best-in-class tracker blocking that stop cookies & creepy ads that follow you around, & more.

Lately, the quality of the search results has been substandard, and hopefully they can fix that. But the actual browsers are very good if you want a minimal feature set.
